The standard Prius Hybrid runs a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with Toyota's fifth-generation hybrid system for 194 combined horsepower — a 70% improvement over the previous generation. Estimated fuel economy is approximately 57 city / 56 highway mpg on FWD models. AWD is available and adds a rear electric motor without impacting fuel economy significantly.

The Prius Prime PHEV builds on the Hybrid with a larger battery pack, pushing combined output to 220 horsepower and adding an estimated 44 miles of electric-only range. For the average Fort Wayne commuter covering under 40 miles per day, the Prime can operate almost entirely on electricity while maintaining the hybrid drivetrain as a backup for longer trips. Level 2 home charging can replenish the Prime battery in under 2.5 hours.

The reimagined Prius cabin is a dramatic departure from prior generations. A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard on most trims, angled toward the driver in a minimalist center console. The instrument cluster is a slim 7-inch digital display behind the steering wheel. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

Upper trims add heated and ventilated leather seating, a panoramic glass roof, JBL premium audio, and a head-up display. The sloping roofline reduces rear headroom slightly compared to a traditional sedan, but the wide rear window maintains an airy feel. Both Hybrid and Prime use the same cabin hardware.
